Vertical Door Saves Space and Enhances Operator Access on Empire Basket Blasters

BB4 Basket Blaster

The new vertical door, now available as a factory-installed option on the BB2 & BB4-3K basket blasters, makes these small-parts machines even more appealing for use in tight production spaces. In addition to saving operating space and improving loading access, the vertical door’s up-and-down motion helps create a cleaner work environment by minimizing media “fallout” when the door opens.

This innovation is yet another advancement in the evolution of Pro-Finish® basket blasters. However, the core benefit of these third-generation machines remains the same: for many small-part jobs, no other cleaning, peening, or finishing method can match their speed, quality, or return on investment.

The BB2-3K processes up to 300 pounds of parts in a single batch. Operators simply load the parts, set the precision timer, and press start—the machine handles the rest, tumbling the parts within two powerful air-blast streams. Additional features include an unloading chute for faster parts handling, a tunable media reclaimer, and heavy-duty ductwork that helps reduce maintenance costs.

The BB4-3K offers all the advantages of the BB2-3K with some added benefits, such as a higher 350-pound part capacity and three pneumatically controlled, oscillating blast guns that boost production rates while lowering energy consumption. With either unit, small-parts finishing costs will “tumble.”
