The term "sandblasting" is still commonly used, but sand is no longer used in abrasive blasting due to the health risks associated with silica sand. Silica sand is a dangerous abrasive that can cause serious respiratory diseases, such as silicosis. For this reason, it is no longer used in abrasive blasting. Never use silica sand in any Empire Equipment.
