To boost the overall reliability of our air blast equipment, Empire offers various wear-resistant options designed to extend the lifespan of abrasive blasting reclaimers. As one of the most impacted components, the abrasive media reclaimer faces constant exposure to wear and demands strong protective measures.
The reclaimer is unique because it is directly exposed to abrasive media throughout 100% of its duty cycle. Moreover, it performs a critical role—separating dust from reusable abrasive. While cyclone reclaimers have been around for many years, they all share a common issue: significant wear at specific points. The abrupt change in direction at the inlet opening creates a high-wear zone due to the concentrated abrasive flow.
Once the abrasive moves from laminar to centrifugal flow, wear decreases but still requires attention. Empire addresses reclaimer wear with various options, from basic unprotected models to highly durable coated designs.
Empire Reclaimer Options:
- Standard Reclaimer (Unlined): Constructed from 11-gauge steel, this basic model is suited for general abrasive applications, typically in single-gun systems with moderate usage.
- External Wear Band: Designed for systems with longer duty cycles or more aggressive abrasives. This option extends the reclaimer’s lifespan by adding protection in high-wear areas at a minimal cost.
- ULTRA-WEAR® Lined: Ideal for continuous-duty systems using highly aggressive angular abrasives. Although the upfront cost is higher, this option offers exceptional durability, potentially lasting 10 times longer than uncoated reclaimers.
- Each of these solutions is tailored to fit specific customer needs, offering cost-effective wear protection based on the abrasive media used and system demands.
By matching the right reclaimer to the abrasive media and system demands, Empire ensures optimal performance and cost efficiency for any abrasive blasting operation.
